Why Ultrasound?
Medically confirm that you are pregnant with a viable (living) pregnancy. Pregnancy tests can detect hCG levels from a recent miscarriage. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. An ultrasound can determine if you are pregnant with a viable pregnancy and detect a heartbeat.
Ensure the pregnancy is in your uterus. Pregnancies that take place out of your uterus, such as in your fallopian tubes or cervix, are life threatening and require medical intervention. The abortion pill does not end ectopic pregnancies. While ultrasound cannot always detect an ectopic pregnancy, it can determine if you do have a living pregnancy in your uterus.
Measure how far along you are. Your last menstrual cycle might not be as reliable as an ultrasound for measuring how far along you are. Abortion pills are more dangerous to take the farther along you are in your pregnancy. Ex: increased risk of heavy bleeding, infection, and incomplete abortion.
Protect your health - especially if you are considering abortion. Taking an hour to get an ultrasound with us could reveal to you that you are actually pregnant with a viable pregnancy (a live pregnancy in your uterus) and inform you of how far along you are so you can make a safe and informed choice for your health and well-being.
